India's Kerosene consumption has fallen 80% over the past decade
India’s Kerosene consumption has fallen 80% in the past decade. The fall has been especially sharp in the last 5-6 years when the Government started to gradually reduce the subsidy on Kerosene. And as Kerosene consumption started to decline, the growth rate of LPG consumption has accelerated.
Both the outcomes - reduction in Kerosene consumption and increase in LPG consumption were stated policy objectives. And the data suggests that the policy has borne fruit…
